First fine art wedding
Back in October in 2020, I photographed my friend’s wedding. I shot about 3000 digital images and 3 rolls of film. I delivered the 300 finished digital images about a week after the wedding and was supposed to develop the analog ones fast. But for some reason the long-developing times of Delta 3200 had me regretting choosing the filmstock. So it’s been a long time since I shot these rolls of film but finally managed to develop and scan these rolls. The rolls I shot are Kodak Portra 400 and Ilford delta 3200. From my results, I can safely say that I love them and would love to shoot more “fine art” weddings.

Paris memories
Finally got around to developing and scanning the images from my and my girlfriend’s trip to Paris in late February 2020 right before coronavirus hit the world. Here are both the analog and digital photos from the trip. Most pictures are taken by me, some by my girlfriend.
Pictures below were taken with Olympus OM10 - 50mm F1.7 & 35mm F2 - Kodak Portra 400
Pictures taken with Fujifilm X-Pro 1 - 23mm F1.4
Scanning my first medium format negatives
For a while, I have been trying to learn how to scan my negatives. After picking up my first 120mm medium format camera, the Mamiya M645 with the 80mm F2.8 lens, I wanted to scan my negatives to get the most out of them.
For months I have tried to scan them with little to no luck. My flatbed scanner in the CanoScan 9000F Mark II. This scanner I got from finn.no for cheap (800NOK). I started with looking into software to this, which wasn’t as easy as it seemed like the original software from canon was impossible to download. So after a lot of google searching, I stumbled onto the software Vuescan. This seemed to be my saving grace, but the quality was shit if you ask me. I tried to scan as negatives in the software and positive to convert with negative lab pro in Adobe Lightroom. After trying this for several days, I couldn’t say I was too happy.
A couple of weeks later I decided to try scanning again after finding the software Silverfast. And this was finally the quality I was looking for. After a lot of twerking in the software, exporting to TIFF and editing in Lightroom.
Heres the results of early morning scans today.
My first 120mm Portrait
ABGT350 and Prague
Back in late September of 2019, my buddy Jørgen, Espen and I finally got the chance to go to ABGT for the first time. I had the time of my life at these concerts we went to that weekend. Google “ABGT350” if you want to know more. At one of the concerts, I brought my point and shoot camera Olympus MJU 1. I also took some pictures with my FujiFilm X-PRO1 as well.
I want to highlight some of the photos I took, I was especially pleased with these ones. I absolutely love the reflections in the first pictures and the documentary-style in the other two.
These reflection! I love this shot!
Graffiti, looks like New York
Here are rest of the photos shot on the Olympus Stylus MJU. The color film are Kodak Portra 400 and the black and white are HP5 Ilford 400.
I also shot some photos on my digital FujiFilm camera from walking around in the city:
From Amsterdam with love
In the month of September, my girlfriend and I decided to travel to Amsterdam. This was our first trip with the Olympus Mju 1 and testing the Kodak Portra 400 that everyone is talking about. It delivered for sure, might be some of my favorite photos ever, but it might be from my strong feeling from this amazing city. I really love it here. I also got the chance to play with a bit of street style photography, which was definitely way out of my comfort zone.
We also brought our trusting fuji cameras as well as the film camera. I am still experimenting with film and don’t 100% trust that the photos will come out as I want them. Also if I want to print something, it’s just easier with my fuji right now, maybe in the future, when I know more about darkroom, ill be able to make awesome prints. I’ll post the digital photos we took underneath the analog photos.
Photos below are taken with the point and shoot camera Olympus Mju 1 and two rolls of Kodak Portra 400 speed analog film.
And now comes the digital photos. The camera we used was the Fujifilm X-Pro 3 and the X-E1. My girlfriend used the 18mm F2 (some of the photos are her’s) and i used the 18-55mm Zoom lens as i wanted to shoot in tele for the architecture.
Oktoberfest in Styrn
Pictures from when Guro and I when to Oktober fest in Stryn, Norway. Sadly, I didn’t take any pictures from the actual party... But we had a blast driving around and looking at Norway’s stunning landscape. This all happened over a weekend, drown down on Friday after work. Party on Friday night, daytime on Saturday we drow around, Saturday night we partied and on Sunday we drow home via Geirangerfjorden and Trollstigen. As I had never been there myself, I had a blast seen the nature I live just a few hours from.
All photos were shot on my Olympus Mju 1 when Ilford HP5 and Kodak Ektar 100 film stocks. A lot of the black and white photos didn’t turn out as it was shot at night on 400 ISO. Here are the best photos for the weekend
Weekend trip to "Borgen", Rissa
A weekend trip to our cabin in Rissa. It’s my mother’s childhood home. On this trip I’m testing my new point and shoot film camera, Olympus Mju I. It got a 35mm F3.5 lens, I’ll write a review of it later with sample pictures and my thoughts.
I shot some of the pictures on Fuji Superia 200 (the last ones), but I also had the chance to test a new film stock, Kodak Colorplus 200, which is supposed to be good for skin color. that made me want to test out some portraits of my family. See if you can spot the different film stocks, which is which? Comment down below. See the photos by scrolling further down.
There are also pictures from our way home on a visit to my girlfriend’s parents’ house and snapped some photos of the cat that actually a small tiger. When you see the same picture more than ones, that’s me testing flash vs no flash to see what’s best.
Some pictures are also taken by my girlfriend, Guro. Check out her blog.
rusasetvatnet
Today’s post is about our local pond. Where the locals go to relax, have a walk, exercise or just get out of the house. Everyone needs to get to know their local town, this summer day in June me and Guro went for a walk around the local lake, Rusasetvatnet. The reason I (Håkon) wanted to take a trip there was to recreate one of my best pictures taken (find it in my portfolio) with the Fujifilm X-T3. It’s of a high voltage pole that goes across the entrance of the park. As I was exploring more film, I wanted to see how it would look on 35mm analog film. This pond or “bird park” is rich with history. From being a wonderful place for birds to almost nothing, to a new paradise for birds again.

Here are the pictures we took on our trip to the water. Pictures are taken with the Olympus OM10 with the 50mm F1.8. The film stock used was Fuji color 200 and Ilford HP5. You can now see that the “park” is thriving when birds again.
A trip around the neightbourhood
One afternoon in the summer of 2019 we decided to take a walk around my neighborhood. I live just around the corner from Austrått.
Shot with the Olympus OM10 with the 50mm F1.8 and Fuji Superia 200 film.
fading in to summer // Fujifilm Color 200
Here are pictures for my seventh roll of film. June was arriving and it was time to make the garden ready for summer. I also turned 26. The pictures from my birthday were taken by my girlfriend, Guro. She surprised me with cake, gifts, and ballons after picking me up from a work trip. We were lucky to have a guided tour at Reins Kloster by my grandmother, the famous Olga Berg.
Shot with the Olympus OM10 and the 50mm F1.8. The film stock used here was Fujifilm Color 200.
Look at this cool “first of the roll” shot! The reason it’s only half is that half of the film was “burned” / exposed to light when putting the film into the camera.
may weekend on fujifilm C200 analog film
Here are some 35mm film photographs I took back in May of 2019.
The pictures were taken from a trip to Trondheim. We went to Plantasjen to get some plants for my garden project, we headed over to bakklandet for a walk and ended up at a pizza restaurant at “Solsiden”. Amazing pizza, don't remember the name of the restaurant tho. Bakklanded is such an amazing part of Trondheim! I would love to live there. In the afternoon we headed to Rissa for a small visit with my family and to get some pictures of my sister. The following day, we headed home to start planting the plants we bought at Plantasjen.
All pictures are taken on the Olympus OM10 with the 50mm F1.8. As stated in the headline, the filmstock used was Fujifilm C200. This film stock is known for its strong green’s, You can see it in the pictures that the greens show through.
17th of may with friends in black and white film
Back on 17 of May 2019 the national holiday in Norway, I shot my first roll of black and white film. The film stock I used was Ilford HP5 400 with the Olympus OM10. It was a very sunny day, and with the 400 ISO, I see now that I should have used lower ISO. Even at F16, you can still see that the pictures are way overexposed. Some of them I had to edit exposure on because of it been way overexposed.
Here are the pictures, colored ones from Fujifilm C200 later this week!
If you read this, thank you for coming to my website and looking at my photo’s! :)
easter trip to säffle, sweden
In the Easter week of 2019, my girlfriend and I decided to take a trip to an apartment my family owns in Säffle, Sweden as she hadn’t been there before. After finishing my three rolls of film I was eager to find more. I went searching in all the camera stores on our way to Sweden but was in no luck and my last bet was an old camera store in Säffle itself. At first try, there were out of stock due to its recent popularity. He only had expired film left, one from 1998 and one from 2007. So I started my walk back to the apartment when I realized that expired film is better than no film. I sprinted back to ask the staff I could buy the expired ones, but he didn’t want to sell me them. He only wanted to give them to me because he didn’t know if it would work, but I decided to try anyway and it came out amazing!
Kodak Color Plus 200 Expired 2007
The store staff gave me an old Kodak Color Plus ISO 200 expired back in 2007. After only shooting only expired film and only finding expired film, no wonder I thought there was no new film to be found. The Kodak Color Plus is a very affordable film, think about 5 dollars or 50 NOK per roll. Around half the cost of Kodak Portra 400 witch is the one most people use nowadays. I like the colors that came from this film. I need to pick up some more of the film later to see if it holds up or if it was because of the expired date.
Here are the pictures from Säffle and our return home. On the way home, I dropped my girlfriend off in Hamar, Norway for her last days of school there.
I LOVE THE GRAIN IN THESE PHOTOS! LOOKS PERFECT! :)
Roll 2 & 3 of Expired Fujifilm Superia 200
Following up my last post about my first experience with the Olympus OM10 and analog photography. Here’s the pictures from my two next rolls of expired Superia 200 shot i march of 2019.
Here is where my project started. My project changed from taking photos of the camera’s to taking analog photos. I wanted to see what was possible with this camera and the expired film. Keeping in mind from last post that i didn’t even know if any photos would come out or how they would look. In this roll i wanted to try to photograph some portraits of my friends to see how it would handle skin tones. You can also see me experimenting with F-stop to try to see the difference in sharpness and how the lens holds up.

When trying to understand how film works, we have to first take a lot of photos and review them with the critical eye.
You can see in the photos is that if the pictures are taken inside, you see they are very yellow if taken with artificial light. If taken in natural light, it looks alright in the daytime with correct exposure. I also see strongly that there’s a lot of magenta in some of the photos, don’t know if that’s a fault of the expired film, if I fucked up the exposure or if that’s how the stock works. I guess we’ll see in the future when I have shot some more analog film and have tried out different film stocks. (Which I already have don’t but haven’t shared and reviewed yet. so more to come! :) )
Selfie cropped with X-Pan crop 65:24. Here you can also see the strong magenta, think if shows strongly when there’s not enough light?
200 ISO in the dark, what did i expect?
First roll of film (Fuji Superia 200)
In March of 2019, I when to visit my girlfriend’s mom for the first time. After me nervously talking about me and myself, I started talking about photography and that I wanted to do a project photographing old cameras. She presided to tell me that she used to take photos with film before and that she may have a camera lying around somewhere.
After some hours she found the well preserved Olympus OM10 from the addict. The camera bag included a 50mm F1.8, a 80-200mm F4.5 a wide converter for the 50mm, a flash and alot of filters. She also had three rolls of Fujifilm Superia 200 in-store that I got to try out, the only problem was that it was expired in 2013 and I didn’t know if it would work. But after some hours of rigorously googling the subject, I found out some things that I could try to be able to get something on the film.
Fujifilm SUPERIA 200
My project started with wanting to take digital photos of the camera to showcase its cool look, but I decided to give it a try. I found out that it may need more light to get the correct exposure. I got the rolls from her so that I could try film without spending money, but only hours after going home with the camera I had found out that if I bought an adapter I could mount the OM lenses to the Fuji system. That’s the point when my collection of lenses and vintage cameras started growing massively. The website “Finn.no” or the Norwegian version of craigslist is a place you can find everything you want, sadly for my bank account.
Olympus OM10 with 50mm F1.8 (Shot with Fujifilm X-T3 and 35mm F1.4)
With the film being expired in 2013, as the total analog newbie I was, I decided to shoot all my photos at the widest aperture available F1.8 and some higher to see the difference. The Olympus OM10 has the ability to be able to adjust the aperture, but not the shutter speed. It has a built-in light meter that decides the shutter speed for you. Well here’s the shots:
Although I didn’t have a clue about what I was doing, I liked the results. In hindsight, what I should have done, was to take the photos at a half a stop higher (250-320? ISO and keep that Aperture and shutter speed the same as I would otherwise). Can you tell from the pictures that it expired or is it just me being inexperienced?
I feel like going back to shooting analog has helped me understand photography and my digital camera more than I could ever do with just shooting digital. Before shooting analog, I used Aperture priority almost 99% of the time. Now, 9 months later, I get frustrated whenever I can’t have full control.
More to come! Shot around 20 rolls of film in 2019.
